Prepares students to assess, counsel, and support individuals and families affected by substance use disorders and behavioral addictions. Students study addiction science, motivational interviewing, group therapy, relapse prevention, and co-occurring disorders. Graduates earn CADC or LADC credentials and work at treatment centers, hospitals, correctional facilities, and community health organizations.

Prepares students to provide evaluations, referrals, and short-term counseling that help people prevent or work through personal problems, conflicts, and emotional crises, with coursework in human development, psychopathology, individual and group counseling, screening and referral, interviewing, and professional standards.
Psychology
Human behavior and mental health - the scientific study of individual and collective behavior, its physical and environmental bases, and the analysis and treatment of behavioral problems and disorders. Coursework introduces the major subfields of psychology along with research methods and psychological assessment and testing.
